INDeco Hotels is in Baburajapuram, near Swamimalai in Tamil Nadu. It was an Agraharam in those days and now has been converted to a resort. Paramacharya visited this place and stayed at the home of His devotee, one Shri Srinivasan. In the room where Paramacharya stayed He used to lean against a wall. This portion, which is between Rooms 101 and 102, is still preserved as it is, while the rest of the place has been renovated.
He gave Darshan to the devotees from the same 'thinnai' the porch in the front of homes in those days. He often moved away to outside of the room and went into deep meditation, leaning against the wall as shown in the picture.
The Hotel owners have left the Mud and Brick wall untouched!
The estate that currently houses INDeco Hotels in Swamimalai is a divine acquisition. This Unique Heritage Hotel, near Tanjore in Tamilnadu, in its former avatar was the home of Shri Srinivasa, in whose home Swamigal stayed.
This Kanchi Paramacharya’s choice to stay here was a mystery to many but until now, His energies swell here, not only in the space where He rested but in the entire environs.
A rivulete of the river Cauvery, lead by a Naga, flowed here to serve Him.
A mysterious naga chose to stay here to protect this estate so graciously and died soon after the Siddhi of the Kanchi Saint, when the property was acquired by Steve Borgia. The nagalinga tree, near this space unusually bloomed in thousands during the presence of Sankaracharya here, spreading its aroma all over the estate.
The Sankaracharya of Kanchi connected with many elements here: this estate, the 1896 Tanjore Bungalow, the mud wall, the Durga painting,t he rivulet of river Cauvery, the Naga, the Nagalinga blooms, the neem, vilvam, magidam, manoranchitham trees and the very divine words of Paramacharya. They all dwell here in divine harmony unlike the old Naga that chose to die soon after the Siddhi of the Saint.
The sanctity continued in 1996 when we were restoring the old 1896 house, we laid our hands on an old yellow trunk containing some rare photos of the Paramacharya and some documents. They have been carefully restored and exhibited here. They speak volumes while the vilvam, magidam, manoranchitham and the neem planted by Him sway His aroma.
INDeco recognizes these energies and devotedly respects every reminiscence of the saint. This part of the hotel remains vegetarian and a non smoking zone. The walls that compounded Him are left undisturbed for we feel His energies in them even now. Oh we can go on and on!
For the benefit of the devotees of the Saint of Kanchi all over the world, INDeco has exhibited most of the element mentioned above in a manner as humble as Him.
